The coffee pour is what I consider the prerequisite. I call it that because I'm sure every serious food photographer has or should have made the shot. My coffee pour is the third of five challenges to capture steam.
I wanted to capture that robust steam we see when pouring our first cup of coffee in the morning, the one that helps to wake us up. Of course, dessert and fruits are always a welcome flavor with coffee.
I shot this using natural light from the back to light up the steam. A soft box is on the right. Camera settings: 1/30 sec, F/6.3, ISO-100
